Motor Control

motor.*

Classes:

  • stpMotor –

Minimal non-GUI motor controller for Effusive z-stack acquisition.

Functions:

  • createBackend –

    Create the requested motor backend.

  • moveToPosition –

Move the motor backend to an absolute position.

  • stopMotion –

    Best-effort motor stop helper.

stpMotor

Bases: handle

Minimal non-GUI motor controller for Effusive z-stack acquisition.

This class wraps the subset of the Zaber serial protocol needed by the MATLAB z-stack state machine (moveTo, home, stopMotor, and getCurrentPositionMm). It uses MATLAB's modern serialport transport.

createBackend

Create the requested motor backend.

Input arguments:

  • useDummyMotor

    (logical) –

Whether to create the dummy backend instead of a real motor backend.

Output arguments:

  • motorBackend

    ( struct ) –

Motor backend descriptor with fields used by the z-stack runtime.

moveToPosition

Move the motor backend to an absolute position.

Input arguments:

  • motorBackend

    (struct) –

    Backend descriptor returned by effusive.motor.createBackend.

  • targetPositionMm

    (double) –

    Absolute target position in millimeters.

Output arguments:

  • motorBackend

    ( struct ) –

    Updated backend descriptor.

stopMotion

Best-effort motor stop helper.

Input arguments:

  • motorBackend

    (struct) –

    Backend descriptor returned by effusive.motor.createBackend.
